THURSDAY: On our way home

THURSDAY JULY 17

Alas, heading for home...

Cows welcomed us back to Iowa

Dropping Jennie off at the hotel in Minneapolis. They let her in so apparently she passed the guns test.

A selfie for parting of ways - for now.

Sue home in Wisconsin. Tucker of course greeted Sue with his eagle

Next up: Sue heads Out There to Minneapolis in 2 weeks!

WEDNESDAY: Kansas City Here We Come!

WEDNESDAY JULY 16

Morning spent enjoying Iowa, then on Out There to Kansas City...

Angels watch over this beautiful house. (Yes, really!)

TUESDAY: Hangin' Out There in Iowa & Nebraska

TUESDAY JULY 15

Tuesday brought us a free day to explore with friends Roger and Kellie. Gorgeous weather - temps in 70's with no humidity.

Our visit to the museum at De Soto National Wildlife Refuge featured the recovered steamboat Bertrand and EAGLES to photograph for Tucker.

Not sure about the eagles in this nest.

Mystery pieces of cut cloth recovered from the sunken steamboat Bertrand. Presumably some sort of seamstress pieces but even the historians who went through the artifacts haven't figured out what these are. Any ideas?

Not an eagle

Dundee, Nebraska was all abuzz when Paul McCartney and Warren Buffett had dinner together and stopped by eCreamery for some ice cream afterward on Sunday.

Three teenagers had their pictures taken in front of the bench where Paul and Warren were relaxing. This photo and the story was featured on the national media.

We just happened to be wandering around Omaha on Tuesday so we decided to stop by for a photo op. Only problem is, "someone" picked the wrong bench in front of eCreamery. As Roger remarked later, "They must have added those buildings between Sunday and Tuesday."

On a roll, we decided to reenact another photo near eCreamery.

Paul had quite an impact - gas price was down 10 cents by Tuesday.

eCreamery changed its ice cream flavor names in honor of Paul

and created a special label for the vanilla bean flavor that Paul ordered.

MONDAY: On to Lincoln!

MONDAY JULY 14

Lincoln show tonight!

Onward to WAY OUT THERE in Lincoln

Stopped at side of road to help sister Shari buy San Diego tickets in the Paul McCartney pre-sale.

Here is Jennie before the show.
Even the super-zoom doesn't work too well when there is no light LOL!

Below photos are why Sue is probably not going to resell the Canon super-zoom camera after all…

There were taken from the nosebleed seat.
Note that this black piano is at the far side of the stage from this seat.

SUNDAY: Way Out There in the Dakotas

SUNDAY JULY 13

Way out there in North & South Dakota

Bagg "Bonanza Farm" in North Dakota. We intended to stay for abbreviated tour but so interesting we took entire 1.5 hour tour and skipped the other site on our agenda.

Liked the picture of the dog on the tin lid here.

Shower for the workers rigged by owner on Bagg Bonanza Farm

Beatles are everywhere

Owner's son converted a farm truck into an RV.

Our tour guide Virginia Caplon Goerger.
Historian and photographer - a wealth of knowledge!
She wrote the book she is holding about the history of this Bonanza Farm.

Beatles everywhere

This day Paul McCartney was having ice cream with Warren Buffett in Dundee, Nebraska.
Instead for us, Jennie was sampling her first Culver's ice cream somewhere in South Dakota.
Oh, well.

On to Sioux Falls

Queenie Eye, er, Queen Bee Mill ruins at Sioux Falls.
How about playing here, Paul?

Photo of eagle in Sioux Falls for Tucker.
(Tucker loves his toy eagle.)

Pretty fancy digs for fans on the run at the brand new La Quinta in Sioux Falls.
